Recovered original email. Body preserved verbatim. Hi Danielle, Got your Christmas card at my San Luis Obispo house today, just wanted to say that I really appreciate the thought 🙂 And I enjoyed reading about your lives far, far away from Ca. On this end I’m graduating with my Barch this June, and with an… Continue reading

  • Time Passes — Jo Remembers Lani

Recovered family correspondence — January 8, 2007. I thought a lot about Lani the last couple of weeks. One of the thoughts that made me laugh was, God must have wanted someone to make brownies at 3 in the morning, as she was wont to do. Another was, she must have known she had a… Continue reading

  • A year and a day …

A book I listened to lately said it takes a year and a day to mourn the loss of someone you love. I don’t know if I buy into that or not, but here we are a year later. My heart still aches, but it’s true that life does go on. But I doubt I’ll… Continue reading

  • AraBelle Zeimet Memories from Sue Hughes

Recovered family correspondence — December 30, 2006. Thank you so much! Ara Belle was one of a kind, and I’m so glad that you are doing all this work to get her story told. She was a real trooper when I announced that I was having a baby, at age 42, without a husband. She… Continue reading

  • My mental state of mind …

Since I’ve chronicled so much of my battle so far I thought I’d give you an update. We’ve been playing musical meds since my “incident” with Lamictal in March. I’ve exhausted all serotonin drugs so my Doc and I decided to try the drug family first introduced in the 1960s — which do work on… Continue reading

  • I’m addicted ..

To eBay. I even have my own store. It’s come in handy as I’ve helped to break up some of Mom’s “collections” and the other items we’ve outgrown (toys, clothes, nursery stuff, VHS tapes — you name it.) And my in laws have done pretty well too! It just goes to prove one woman’s trash… Continue reading

  • We’re on our way …

We’re on our way — the second leg of our journey is drawing to a close and so far, so good — dare I write it? Morgan is passed out across the seats (the benadryl finally kicked in and getting up at 4:30 this morning helps too.) Tyler took a power nap as we landed… Continue reading

  • Politically Correct Holiday Greeting …

Can’t take credit for it, but like it nonetheless … Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of… Continue reading

  • Insure it to be sure to it gets broken …

As least 50 boxes of assorted stuff have come in from Utah throughout the year — and in every single box at least one item has been broken — several beyond repair — but it’s the ones that have been insured that are sure to come in at least 100 pieces. And making an insurance… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
