The Olympics’ were tired of the ordinary old events, so they wanted a new one. They put an ad in the paper saying that they would give $1000 to the first person who could develop a new Olympic sport. The race began ideas sent home from all over the globe. Some people thought of combining different kinds of sports, other came up with their own new sport.
A boy named Joe wanted to enter the contest, but he couldn’t because his mom kept making him do homework. He tried to tell his mom that no one else had to do non-school homework over the summer, or during the weekend but, his mom said they weren’t going to get good grades that way. Joe told this mom that most everyone who didn’t do homework over the still got good grades. His mom then got so annoyed with him that she grounded him for the rest of the day.
The next day his friend Bob came over and asked him to play baseball with him, but he couldn’t because his mom was making him do homework. He pleaded with his mother to let him stop the homework so he could go play baseball. His mother said no and made him do more pre-algebra. That night he cried himself to sleep because he couldn’t go play baseball or even have fun over the summer. Over all the years he lost all his friends because he couldn’t hang out with them. Because all he did was eat sleep go to school and do homework.
Oh yeah and by the way the new Olympic sport was water archery, Joes friend Bob was the one who came up with the idea. A competitor would shoot arrows under water at moving targets. The trick was while you fired you would hold your breath under water. Whoever had the highest score after the first 10 arrows won.
