Recovered family correspondence — January 9, 2021.
I asked Jo a simple family-history question:
How were the Frye’s related to the Zeimet’s?
Jo replied:
Bill Frye was my dad’s cousin. Since he was older, we called him Uncle Bill. He spoke really wel at daddy’s funeral.
Bill and brother Morey were sons of Floyd and Ruby Frye. Floyd ran a mining operation and Aunt Ruby was the postmistress in Pringle for many decades. Some of it is confusing because Grandma Zeimet raised a couple of their kids, don’t know why. I feel Stupid not knowing for sure, but I think Ruby was grandma’s sister. I can rummage through daddy’s old genealogy stuff if you need. Or if you have an account on Ancestry, there is a 1940 census record on Ruby that I can’t access.
Jo’s wording is preserved here as family memory, including her uncertainty about exactly how Ruby was related to Grandma Zeimet. It is a research lead rather than a verified genealogical conclusion.
