October brought a different kind of isolation than the spring.
On October 5, I was notified that Morgan was being sent home to quarantine after a possible COVID exposure on September 30.
“I am waiting for information from the health department for the next steps.”
Because I had been teaching in person, I also had to figure out what the exposure meant for my own classes at Maryville and Webster. Moving the classes to Zoom was easy enough. Knowing what counted as safe was not.
By October 11, Morgan was still quarantined in the basement and showing no symptoms. We were trying not to do anything that could extend the isolation period.
On October 15, the St. Charles County Department of Public Health sent his formal release from quarantine.
Ten days of waiting. No symptoms. One more strange little chapter of 2020.
