AraBelle military-record research lead — March 7, 2015.
While reviewing AraBelle Fuller Zeimet’s military record, Danielle found a June 15, 1942 entry reading: “Excision of exostosis, left os calcis.”
Danielle understood this to describe removal of a bony growth from the left heel, but noted that it did not match the family story she remembered about AraBelle’s heel. She asked Jo whether she remembered that story.
No surviving answer to the heel question appears in this email thread. Keep this as an unresolved research lead to compare with AraBelle’s military medical records, letters, diary, and later family recollections.
