Unresolved Blogger recovery lead — original post body still not recovered.
Gmail preserves a message Danielle sent to Matt Oser on August 19, 2014 containing only this original Blogger URL:
http://wakethedinosaurs.blogspot.com/2014/08/matt.html
The URL proves that a Quiet Morgan You’ll Wake The Dinosaurs post with the slug matt existed in August 2014 and was live by the time Danielle emailed the link. No post with that original slug or an obvious matching body appears in the surrounding WordPress archive.
Recovery work completed
- Gmail searched for the exact URL, slug, “Matt,” Blogger notifications, comments, blog links, and surrounding August 15–23, 2014 correspondence. The only direct source is Danielle’s August 19 email containing the URL.
- The original Gmail message was also read at the raw-MIME level. Its plain-text part contains only the Blogger URL, and its HTML part contains only that same URL as a hyperlink. There is no hidden excerpt, quoted post text, inline image, or attachment in the message.
- WordPress checked for a differently titled August 2014 copy.
- The Facebook export was checked for the exact URL and for all posts in the August 15–21 window. The only August 19 Facebook record is an empty app-generated “posted something via The Write Life” entry; it contains no recoverable story text or media and cannot be tied to the Blogger post.
- Google Drive searched for the exact URL, old domain, Blogger exports/backups, title/slug combinations, and offline blog artifacts. No post body surfaced.
- Public web and Wayback-index searches for the Blogger URL and possible WordPress.com mirror returned no archived copy.
A separate August 16–18, 2014 email thread preserves an edible jet-history cake-top graphic ordered for Matt. The surviving evidence does not establish that the cake and the lost Blogger post were the same story, so that connection is not assumed.
Status: original Blogger URL and “live by August 19, 2014” are verified. The exact title beyond the slug matt, original body, and any associated media remain genuinely missing. The source email itself has now been exhausted as a recovery path.
