Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Peter Zeimet — The 1945 Maytag Wringer Washer

Recovered original email. Body preserved verbatim.

MY WASHING MACHINE BLED TO DEATH ALL OVER THE UTILITY ROOM.................IT WAS SAD. Washing machines and new floors that were totally soaked do not come cheaply. BRAINS OR THE LACK THEREOF TO THE RESCUE......... I brought out the CHEIFTAN...............an old 1945 Maytag Wringer Washer.............and I will be up all night trying to catch up on this disaster of a house strewn with bits and pieces of Walmart sales called clothing. The BLACK AND WHITE TELEVISION "test" pattern below has a chief on it (You are not old enough to remember them).............so I thought in honor of the day, it was indeed appropriate.
I am also somewhat proud of myself. The little indian was been bought MANY years ago in an antique store as a social statement or a placebo for shopping addiction................whichever came first, I guess. It needed new stuff..............AND I FOUND THE PARTS.................AND MORE THAN ONE TIME I MUTTERED..........."YOU WANT ME TO PUT WHAT WHERE?.............and it is working...............and dripping a little, but a pan can catch it. It is older than I am and upon occasion, I drip; too. So, I guess the Chieftain is not quite a Pontiac, but one of those would not fit into the utillity room.
I must say..................THAT DAMNED THING CAN WASH CLOTHES...................and there are hoses and buckets and this wringer stupid sonofabitch wringer thing.................. OOPS ( - I am allowing myself a little slack). MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE A WRINGER WASHER PARTY when you get out this way. I will make the canapes. - Pete

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
