Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • Wanted …

Wanted — old erector set pieces — the boys just like poking the screws into the s holes, securing it with a nut and calling it a something-anator. I’ve run out of not sharp things. Continue reading

  • Theology …

Morgan is taking a real interest in “who made things” — who made this blanket for me? Where did this toy come from? Recently he asked Grandpa who made the animals, his answer was God, Morgan’s next question? Well who made God? Grandpa took him to look at something else. And since he’s on a… Continue reading

  • Have you been busy or something …

Matt called to ask when I’m going to update my blog — I’ll let your figure out my response. Since I last posted we’ve spent a weekend in Indianapolis, finished a majority of the basement (Matt gets construction credit here), went to work, went to lessons, did at least 30 loads of laundry, did the… Continue reading

  • The power of the question …

As a mom I find my self under a constant fire of questions, “Can I go to the bathroom?” “What can I eat?” “Where is the (fill in the blank) toy and the 10 zillion accessories that go with it?” Question of the day from Morgan “Do you fart in your sleep?” To which I… Continue reading

This thread began when a Giles descendant contacted Danielle through Ancestry about a disintegrating family album containing Zeimet photographs from the 1930s–1980s. The family recollections below are preserved as source accounts. Peter Zeimet — Earl and Inice Giles Inice died of cancer in 1972 or 73. She… Continue reading

  • It was all fine until …

I, being the brilliant Mom I am, decided to let the boys help us with the painting of the basement — I gave them a concrete wall that no one will see (because it is behind a table) showed them the technique and supervised while trying to clean some dirt off of the beam I… Continue reading

  • Our first pine wood derby was a success …

I’m pretty sure Matt’s primary reason for getting Tyler involved in Boy Scouts was the pine wood derby. The boys and Dad created numerous designs and spent the past month refining their creations — Tyler’s a hammerhead shark and Morgan’s a more traditional race car. In the end Tyler placed first for his age group… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
