Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Closing the Webster Teaching Chapter

Sometimes a chapter ends with a ceremony. Sometimes it ends with an email about mandatory training.

In February 2025, Webster sent its annual training reminder to active adjunct instructors. By then I was working full-time as a Learning Designer at Maryville, and I knew I was not going back to teaching there.

So I wrote to Gary:

I guess take me off of the list. Thanks.

He replied:

Thanks for your work on behalf of our students over the years.

My answer was only two words:

Miss them.

And that was that. After years of classes, assignments, questions, deadlines, good students, frustrating students, and all of the strange stories that come with teaching, one more chapter quietly closed.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
