Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

I Found the Full-Time Job

After a very long stretch of applications, interviews, freelance work, adjunct teaching and trying to figure out what came next, I finally found the full-time job.

On June 14, Maryville University offered me a position as a Learning Designer. Three days later, after asking what felt like a million practical questions, I sent the sentence that made it official:

Thanks – I am accepting the position.

Maryville has been part of my professional life since 2013, first through teaching and course work, so there is something fitting about the next chapter starting there too.

By June 19 I was telling the people at STLCC’s Forum that I had found a full-time job and would be starting July 8. That meant wrapping up the newspaper design work and stepping away from some of the assorted pieces I had been juggling while looking for something permanent.

It took longer than I wanted, and the road there was much less direct than I expected, but finally: a new chapter.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
