After two years of being both the professor and the student, the Education Technology degree is done.
I had emailed my advisor because the degree audit still looked like I had another sequence to complete. I was pretty sure that was not right, but I wanted someone else to say it.
Dr. Ralph Olliges checked it again and sent exactly the answer I wanted:
“You have completed everything. The degree should be awarded within the next couple of weeks. There is nothing that you need to do.”
My response: “That is my favorite kind of news!”
The degree is a Master of Arts in Education Technology from Webster University. The final stretch included a capstone portfolio that pulled together the work I had been doing in online teaching, course design and educational technology.
By then I was already using the degree as the next step toward a full-time instructional design role.
