This is more than a pile of papers … this is many, many hours of work … work on weekends … work and time spent reviewing instead of chilling with my family … work and sleep lost about making sure I can keep up … and that work was mostly ignored … and it made me cry …
As I teach design classes there is not an easy way to give feedback in the online environment … the files are submitted in the native format (I need them that way) … and the files do not work with the learning management system) … so I print out their submissions, mark them up … scan the marked up papers with comments and return them to the students … as we work on a progressive project all semester is is expected that they will take the comments and critiques and make corrections for the final project … and most of the students ignored most or all of the comments in their final project … and I marked the same mistakes – again … it is so frustrating … and I know I care too much … I know they do not pay me enough to care … but I do … but now final grades reported …I am giving up for now … let’s do it again …
