Recovered Beck/Ray family image source — April 29, 2019. Original email from Barbara Beck.
Barbara sent two old photographs while the family was reconnecting branches of Ellen Ray Beck’s family.
Her identification notes read: “Ellen Claudine Ray (circa…?…1916? 1917?)” and that Betty had located Rosa and Howard’s clan with Maria. Barbara also remembered that Johnny was godfather to their Juan and said Rosa had sent some photographs.
What the two surviving photographs show
- FullSizeRender.jpg — first attachment: an older studio photograph of a young girl in a light ballet/dance dress posed beside a boy wearing formal tails and a top hat. The girl holds out the side of her skirt while the boy poses with one hand near his face.
- FullSizeRender.jpg — second attachment: a close studio portrait of a smiling young girl with short curled hair and small flowers arranged across the top of her hair.
Barbara’s message does not specify which photograph is Ellen Claudine Ray or identify the other people pictured. The approximate 1916/1917 dating is also presented by Barbara as uncertain. Those identities and dates therefore remain family-memory leads rather than visual identifications.
Status: both original Gmail attachments recovered and visually reviewed; identities remain intentionally unassigned until supported by labeled photographs or other family records.
