Recovered family-photo lead from September 30, 2018.
Danielle emailed Mike Oser a photograph with the simple note: “Hello – Here is the photo – it is attached as well.”
The surviving Gmail attachment is named CCI_000877.jpg. Gmail reports it as an image/jpeg attachment of 3,658,765 bytes on message 1662c2d296e89fa6.
October 1, 2026 recovery breakthrough
The Gmail attachment endpoint still fails, but the original message’s raw MIME was successfully opened. The MIME source contains the complete JPEG attachment as a base64 payload, and the extracted payload size matches the Gmail attachment metadata. This means the image itself is recoverable; it is no longer considered a missing-source image.
A direct attempt to pass the recovered 3.66 MB JPEG into the WordPress media library failed at the connector transport layer because the inline upload body was too large. The remaining issue is therefore a file-transfer limitation, not missing source data.
No matching file named CCI_000877 was found in the connected Google Drive backup. This record intentionally does not guess at the people, place, or original photo date.
Recovery status: original email located; attachment metadata confirmed; complete JPEG bytes located in Gmail raw MIME; WordPress transfer still pending because of connector limits.
