Sorry, I have not made a ton of progress today – found out one of my Maryville students died of an accidental overdose last week.
We had been working to find him an internship.
It’s weird.

The next morning, after Kimber said how horrible it was, I wrote:
“Thanks. It’s the second Maryville student I’ve lost. I’m an adjunct, I should not care. But I do.”
Only a week earlier, Missouri KIDS and I had still been talking about how to make an internship work for him. I told Donna that he was a very strong writer and that we were trying to sort out the other pieces.
Then suddenly there were memorial donations instead.
