Today would have been my Grandma, AraBelle Fuller Zeimet’s, 100th Birthday.
As many of you may know she was a nurse at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. She later became a member of the Army Nurse Corp at a time when women in the military was a novelty and an unknown quantity.
Since her death in 2001 I have been VERY slowly pulling together her letters, diary, and scrapbooks into a project I’ve named She Remembers Pearl Harbor. This summer, pending any unplanned attacks of tick-related illness, I plan to get this done – it needs to be shared with the world.
