On Monday, September 11, Tyler successfully passed his final Eagle Board and became Troop 72’s 77th Eagle Scout.
He has been in Scouts for more than ten years, starting as a Tiger Cub at Harris Elementary and working his way all the way to Eagle.
For his Eagle project, Tyler built a watershed model for the local parks department to use when teaching about the impact our community has on area groundwater.
The happy dance started immediately. The next job was planning the Court of Honor for November 19 — finding a room, figuring out the floor plan, podium, microphone and all of the little pieces that go into marking a very big accomplishment.
The Missouri House of Representatives also agreed to honor Tyler with a House Resolution for his Eagle achievement.
The school district later shared the news too, noting that Tyler had grown from Tiger Cub to Eagle and would continue in the troop as a mentor for younger Scouts.
Congratulations, Tyler. Troop 72 Eagle Scout number 77.
November 19 update: The Court of Honor happened as planned. The recovered Gmail trail includes the final ceremony script, family photo and video shares from that evening, and a video sent with the subject “Matt speech.” Tyler’s Eagle celebration had officially moved from planning to memory.
