Tyler had been working through his Eagle Scout paperwork in July and met with troop leaders to have it reviewed before it went to Council.
After the meeting, Matt apparently did not think it had gone especially well.
So I asked: “Really? Matt did not seem to think it went very well.”
Wade’s answer was a pretty good one to save:
“Tyler was one of the top two I have seen … as far as prepared. No one ever has it all complete, but most have to go back and do a little more to get everything together.”
The next step was the Eagle Board of Review. Wade warned that even boys who know their material can get flustered in front of the board.
My response: “Thanks – we will help him practice the speaking part. (Even though he will fight us about it.)”
