Recovered family correspondence — November 12, 2010.
I checked in after not hearing from Jo. She was fine, just buried in work and getting ready to leave for Chattanooga for five days.
When I asked what she was working on, Jo explained that she consulted as a neutral in mediation, negotiation and investigations, mostly EEO investigations with an attorney in Denver. The work meant long interviews, reviewing notes, writing reports and presenting findings.
The upside, she said, was being able to stay home much of the time, garden, train the dog and keep up with several hours of physical therapy each morning.
She also asked me to tell Morgan that she appreciated his thank-you note. And she thought Tyler looked happier after getting glasses, joking that maybe he had looked worried before because he was simply trying to see.
Jo ended with the reminder that everybody learns at a different pace, “some not until they’re 35 or so,” so Tyler was already ahead of the curve.
