Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Pat Oser — I Am Trusting That You Know Our Hearts

Recovered Oser family correspondence — July 20, 2009. Original email exchange between Danielle and Pat Oser. Bodies preserved verbatim.

Hello –

This has been bugging me all night — I don’t want you to think in any way that I don’t want you to move closer — quite the opposite. What I was trying to convey is that we will come to you if you need us, no matter where you are. I know I’d be lost without you. I’ve never had a family as supportive and it still catches me off gaurd how willing you are to step in, no matter what. (Now I’m crying at work — great 🙂 )

Let us know how we can help.

Love always —

D-

Sweatheart,

Thanks for the note. I know it is hard to communicate what we feel (I am especially bad at it and Mike, unfortunately, is worse.) We’d love to move closer to you and it is at this point primarily for selfish reasons — we’d like to cut the drive time to come see you so that it’s easier on us and so that you never feel you are imposing on us when you’d like us to come help out with the kids AND we’d be closer to a metropolitan area where we go shopping, to the theater, to ball games, etc. AND we’d be closer to the rest of our family.

We’d like it to be easier for you than it was for us, I guess. Our families weren’t often able to help; they were just too far away. And yes, it might be easier on you guys too, both now and later when we need help. In the last dozen or so years we’ve know you, you’ve shown us over and over that you care about us and you’d figure out how to help us even if we were quite a distance away. You’ve treated us wonderfully.

I don’t want you to think we would be moving because you NEED us. You don’t need us; you’re doing great on your own. We love seeing you all and helping when we can and you’ve been accepting of us enough to let us share in your lives and help you occasionally.

I still don’t know if I expressed myself correctly. I am trusting that you know our hearts and we know yours. And now I am crying too. (at least I am not at work)

Love,

Pat

P.S. We will not move until we find a house we like and think we’d enjoy and can afford. It could be awhile or something could pop up anytime. Who knows?

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
