Recovered Oser family correspondence — September 28, 2008. Pat Oser forwarded this family-photo exchange to Danielle while the family was gathering photographs. Body preserved verbatim.
Well, what do you know. Mike had some of Mom’s albums after all. I will try to get them sometime in the next couple of weeks and start scanning them.
Hope you are adjusting to the time change and the lack of sleep. Talk to you soon.
Love,Pat

Hey,
I’ll call you later. I found a box of pictures, including a red album, green album and stuff. I think it’s the box you have been asking for. We need to get together on this sometime.
Mike

Well, it was a sweet note and I won’t be able to reproduce it exactly. I was looking at pictures of your son — what a cute kid. And I saw pictures Mom had of your graduation from SLU. I was remembering how she would stand over you at the kitchen table, forcing you to do your homework. I know it was hard for both of you — ADHD wasn’t known about. When they finally got you to a doctor in the fifth grade and you were diagnosed, she was relieved to be told that she wasn’t wrong to stand over you like that and force you to concentrate.
I know you had teachers who didn’t think you’d ever go to college but I don’t believe Mom or Dad ever eliminated that possibility. She was very very proud that you did so well, both in school and in your career. Mom also gave a lot of credit to Karen for helping you and encouraging you. It took a lot of commitment on both your parts.
And, if I haven’t told you, I am so proud of you too.
Well, enough reminiscing. I need to get a couple of things done here, after being gone for over a week.
Take care. Love, Pat
P.S. I also saw a photo of Dad, you, me and Jack at a KC St. Patrick’s dinner. In the crowd right behind us was Mike’s brother. I have seen the photo before but never noticed John before. He was in high school and worked at the KC — the same job Mike took over after he quit.
