Recovered family correspondence — September 8, 2008. Original email from Jo Zeimet. Original subject: “RE: Just a little hello.” Body preserved verbatim.
Dave and I were having an email exchange about whether and how he was going to ship Grandpa’s workbench here. I made a joke I would have made with any of my friends, about “gotta quit fuckin around with email and get back to work” and his response indicated that he thought I was criticizing him for being on the computer. I apologized for any misunderstanding, but no answer.. Anyway, Marilyn took over the exchange and said they could ship it in a variety of ways, but Dave would have to drive it to SLC. I told her to give it away or recycle it or something, because I didn’t want anybody to have to make a special trip, while they were dealing with a move. So anyway, didn’t hear anything back. It just wasn’t worth anybody having hurt feelings or making big efforts.
It’s okay, doesn’t need any fixing. I always regret when there’s a hurt feeling, but it happens with email (“can’t see the smile on an email.”)
