Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Peter Zeimet — I Know What an iPod Is

Recovered family correspondence — September 27, 2007. Original email from Peter Zeimet. Original subject: “OK – I know what an Ipod is….and I played PacMan once 30 years ago.”

although I have never even owned a walkman. I do know how to operate a microwave if it has the minute dial or a turn dial…..beyond that it is a mystery. I have NO clue how to program a VCR or DVD thing and I do not own either. Cell phones………I HATE THE PHONE and as far as an I phone……….I DON’T THINK SO. A Face page? My face is not very nice and I have not heard of them. I did play pacman once years ago and some video game with Mindy once in Park City while visiting. I can drive a car and work and manage to travel throughout the world, volunteer for organizations and am reasonably aware of politics and the do’s and don’ts. Somehow little technical things become old hat. I remember when people bragged they could adjust their outside TV antannae to pick up far away stations like Cheyenne, Wyoming because they installed a power booster. That was high tech and high class. Luckily I did not care about TV in Cheyenne then and I still do not. I had to laugh when someone poo pooed me because I did not have a casette player and still had the 8 tracks. Well, whoopee doo. When they can invent the automatic AND I MEAN AUTOMATIC where you have to do NOTHING……. cat box, count me into the line to buy one and learn them technically. But as far as MUSIC GOES……I would rather play in a group that makes music. Listening to it intently is like a couch potato calling himself a sportsman while watching ESPN, No, they are a person sitting on a couch getting testosterone imbalances via satellite or cable. Now if they are out participating or coaching young athletes, that is a different story. They are part of sports but just sitting and playing with gadgets makes them just a lump.

NONE of us can be current on everything nor should we be worried about it. Hopefully, I have had a more interesting life than playing with the newest gadget. Just like power boosters for old black and white TV sets, they come and go and if they are unknown in later years, their importance was really not much in the history of mankind, was it? – pz

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
