Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Catching Up

Hello all –

We haven’t dropped off the face of the Earth – it just seems that way. Seems I can’t keep up with much – I’m doing pretty good if I can keep Morgan off the table (his favorite place to climb and launch cheerios, trains, balls, you name it). Matt told me the other day that the laundry was starting to resemble the “great trash heap;” (which if you never watched Fraggle Rock makes no sense.) If only it was the great trash heap – noble and all knowing – but alas it is more dirty clothes mocking me, daring me to drag them down the stairs so Morgan and Tyler can dump them out and fight about who gets to sit in-hide under-drag around the laundry basket.

So far this summer we’ve been to Branson, MO to ride on Thomas The Train (a fun day, except I couldn’t explain why the train didn’t talk) and we’ve inflated our elephant kiddy pool – it’s been a big summer for us! We have also gotten in quite a few tickle wars, sleepless nights, water fights, Saturday morning treasure hunts and luckily no more trips to the emergency room.

I’m hoping you spent your Independence Day in the company of good friends, good BBQ and fireworks – we spent our evening at Chuck-E-Cheese — because Tyler choose Independence Day (how ironic) to finally use the potty on his own. We’re slowly gaining on it I think (I shouldn’t say it out loud or I’ll jinx myself.) Now if he keeps it up we “get” to “go sleep in a tent and roast marshmallows and sleep outside and catch fireflies and sleep in a tent ….”

In other news, I got a promotion to Web Initiatives Manager. Which means I’ll get paid for doing the stuff I’ve been doing already – Yeah! I’m becoming more and more web savvy (or trying to at least) I’m even thinking about starting a blog (never mind that I’ll be copying my sister-in-law) so you’ll have a place to check my random ramblings whenever your heart desires.

Matt’s been busier than ever doing what I’ll never know. We spent his birthday at the movies (War of the Worlds and no I haven’t seen the first one so I don’t know which is better) and went out to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa (it’s ridiculous that it takes 4 adults to take 2 children out for a meal, but that’s the reality right now and we love them more and more everyday – and have occasional thoughts about selling them to the gypsy’s.)

I’m going to cut this short – got web stuff to do.

Lots of love — Danielle

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
