Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • I’m in sooo much trouble …

I’ve had several days at home with the boys (2 snow days and one sick day for Morgan). During the course of our confinement I had enough. I put Morgan in time-out. This is our post-time out talk: Me: “Why did you get time-out?” (The classic test for knowing if they actually knew what they… Continue reading

  • Tyler meets the skink …

Just seconds after this photo was taken the handler told Tyler to stay very still — he thought the skink might need to pee. Tyler froze. And behind him the handler took a bottle of water and sprinkled it on his head — mahem ensued — but luckily he handled it without a major breakdown,… Continue reading

  • I’ve been trapped in the basement …

Literally, I’ve been trapped in the basement. You see we’re converting the current craft room to a real guest room (so guests won’t have to sleep on the tippy pull out in the family room) — but this means clearing out a good section of the basement. Now 2 full loads to Goodwill, tons of… Continue reading

  • The about you quiz -#2

Name the Hollywood icon you most relate to. Felicity Huffman’s character Lynette Scavo on “Desperate Housewives” Somewhat confulstered at times, but figures it out in the end. Continue reading

  • Your funny for today …

Matt and the boys have been very busy preparing for the upcoming pine wood derby. (Matt’s a bit excited — too bad he’s not the only Boeing engineer father who is helping — may the best car win). Anyway Morgan has a traditional car while Tyler and Dad have created a hammerhead shark car, yes… Continue reading

  • Something a little different …

While perusing a magazine during Morgan’s swim lesson I came across an article “30 Ways To Celebrate Yourself” so I thought I could take on a day/week (or whatever frequency works) and go through them — well some of them anyway. I’d love to get your responses as well. #1 Write down your three favorite… Continue reading

  • Happy New Year …

Here we are with only a few hours left of 2008 — The boys are bouncing off the walls and can’t wait to see the ball that drops (but doesn’t break) fall. You see last year we showed them the ball drop on You Tube at 8ish and put them to bed. This year Tyler… Continue reading

  • Back to normal …

6:37 am Morgan to Mom “Mom, can’t I have my privacy? I’m trying to sleep here.” “Yes, you can have privacy but it’s time to get up.” “Mom, privacy means get out of here.” Continue reading

  • Christmas Quotes …

6:15 am 12/24/08 Tyler to Dad“Do you think the elves are polishing Santa’s sled now?” 1:48 am 12/25/08 Tyler to Dad“Can we open presents now?” 10:15 am 12/25/08 Morgan to Grandpa Oser“I got everything I wanted and I wasn’t even that good.” That pretty much sums it up. Continue reading

  • 2008 Holiday Greeting

Happy Holidays! A year in review – where do I start? Well I drafted this letter at the pediatrician’s office – so little has changed. It’s a really good thing I work part-time. The boys are growing like crazy and it seems to me they just get taller and louder every year. Last year I… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
