Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • And the silence if broken …

After the out of tune sing along we drove along in silence, mistakenly thinking the boys had fallen asleep when out of the backseat we hear, “My pee pee is sticking up.” Slightly shocked but not really me replies “Oh, that’s OK.” What am I supposed to say? Continue reading

  • Do, re, Me …

Matt loves to sing – sings all the time. This was particularly funny as when we were driving hope he tried to sing “When you wish upon a star” so out of tune and to add to the cacophony Tyler started a rousing rendition of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in his best toddler tune. And… Continue reading

  • Duh!

We’ve been going to see Ms. Jill to get haircuts since I moved to St. Louis. This time I was fortunate enough to bring Matt along for the juggling act. Tyler loves Ms. Jill. He know that Ms. Jill is the only one allowed to bring scissors anywhere near his head. So when Tyler ambled… Continue reading

  • And no chair was left standing …

Morgan is a toddler, an ACTIVE toddler. When Morgan is around no one and nothing is safe. Today the kitchen chairs were the target of the pent up energy, and not one was to be left standing. Before I could even turn around he had pushed all of the chairs off the ledge into the… Continue reading

  • A Glimpse of Tyler’s Soccer Career …

He dribbles, he kicks, he makes his way down the field, he’s almost at the goal – full stop. “Oh beautiful flower.” Continue reading

  • We’re baaacckk …

We’re back from our brief “vay-k” in Utah and Vegas. About two hours after we arrived home to cranky kidos ready for bed, Matt asked if we could go back on vacation. Continue reading

  • In search of nite-nite music …

We’re still without a car. In the process of shuffling borrowed vehicles, we have the boys out much too late. They are crabby and whining and I’m driving a strange car in the rain, not OK. With my nerves frazzled I convince Tyler we should listen to some music. Me: “OK how about this?” as… Continue reading

  • Chee …

Morgan is addicted to cheese, not the good cheese, the American singles in the plastic wrapper cheese. He’ll stand at the fridge crying “Chee, chee” until you get him a slice which he will then take the double fisted method of eating as fast as he can. On a recent trip to the grocery store… Continue reading

  • Cowboys and Aliens …

Found a pair of stick horses at a garage sale today. Matt thinks this is pretty cool and digs out our pseudo cowboy hat and asks Tyler if he wants to play Cowboys and Indians. (Which turns out is a game of hide and seek with the addition of a horse.) A while after the… Continue reading

  • So much for self reliance ….

The car is in the shop .. I’m home alone with two children, all day. I’m not about to let this lack of car stop me. Tyler needs his allergy meds ‘cause his nose is making me crazy. So I find an alternate solution, I have a bike and a tow behind trailer. Never mind… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
