Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • The Powers of Observation …

This is Franklin. Every episode of Franklin starts by saying “Franklin could count by twos and tie his shoes.” But until the other day I didn’t notice — until it was pointed out by a 4-year-old — that Franklin doesn’t even wear shoes. Go Tyler. Continue reading

  • Fortune Cookie Say …

Morgan: “No challenge is too big for you.”Tyler: “No one ever became wise by accident.”Me: “You and your spouse will be happy in your life together.”Ahhh. Continue reading

  • I, I Think I Smell Something …

Tyler has a nose for popcorn — I mean he’s a bloodhound when it comes to popcorn. I think he could be roused from a sound sleep with just the smell. He’ll appear at the top of the stairs, peering down, knowing he’s not supposed to come down, knowing that he’s supposed to be in… Continue reading

  • I’m feeling better by the way …

Things are starting to turn around again — yeah! I’ve made it through the week without a major meltdown and have been weening myself off the Xanax. I even broke out into The Love Boat theme song for no apparent reason. In just a few weeks I’m off to LA for the Tri Delta convention… Continue reading

  • Mommy Blog …

FX (I think it’s FX) is looking for ideas for pilots for shows — I think they should do one called “Mommy Blog” it would be the next generation of “Sex In The City” — maybe throw in the “documentary-ish” feel of The Office. It’s not like there isn’t enough material out there. Follow the… Continue reading

  • While I’m Waiting … Let Me Tell You About Cars

While I sit here waiting for web files to transfer I thought I’d relay our trip to the movies on Saturday. We, like millions of others, took the boys to see Cars. To beat the crowd, we were insightful and bought our tickets online and booked it over to the theater — skipping lunch at… Continue reading

  • Better Life Through Chemistry …

To say I’ve been in a low place is an understatement. But first let me explain a few things … I’ve been seeking assistance to help with depression since 1999 — where at that point I would drive along the highway and wonder if I was to be killed at that moment, how would that… Continue reading

  • Irony …

Surely I’m not the only one who finds it ironic that my company spent considerable time, effort and funds this past weekend to remind the “people with doors” where to park. Continue reading

  • Excuse me while I scrape the Poptart off my foot …

I’ve lost it. You know you’ve hit a low point when Poptart smudge on your foot doesn’t really phase you. It’s been quite a week for the Oser clan — Tuesday being a highlight when within the course of the morning — the dryer, the garage door opener and Tyler’s TV all decided to die.… Continue reading

  • $1,001 …

The price for fixing the air conditioner in the truck. Now we must ponder babying it through another 1.5 years until we pay off the car or biting the bullet and paying two car payments at once. And then there is the “what kind” question that will drive Matt into research and consumer reports mode until… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
