Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • Fly me to the moon …

Labor Day we took the boys to see Fly Me To The Moon (in 3D no less) It’s cute — not perfect, but cute. The Russians are the enemy storyline did not resonate with this generation but offers a Cold War nod — funny how different the world is and isn’t different today. A good… Continue reading

  • Fundraising 101 …

With the start of school also means the kick-off of school fundraising season. Tyler’s school does the Hawk Walk to collect donations for the Parent Teacher Organization. This year I decided Tyler was old enough to call his grandparents and ask for support. In advance we practiced the script. “I’m raising money for my school,… Continue reading

  • Third week woes …

We’ve just started the third week of school and I’m already totally frustrated and overwhelmed. It’s not so much the daily homework as it is the daily homework battles. We save homework until after dinner so he’s had a chance to play, he’s fed and there are few excuses (aside that we’re both exhausted.) It’s… Continue reading

  • Jokes …

Tyler and Morgan love to make up jokes. They get a total kick out of nonsense without a punchline. Imagine my surprise when they came up with something, at the spur of the moment that made sense. Tyler “What do you call a Popsicle when it’s all gone?”Morgan “A stick” Made me laugh anyway. Continue reading

  • Flavor or the day …

A few weeks ago we took the boys to get a Hawaiian Ice (snow cone). The flavor of the day was Mango Tango, which tickled Tyler’s fancy. Now what did Morgan want? White. That’s right, white. Not coconut, not vanilla or cream — he wanted a cup of plain snow. He was delighted with his… Continue reading

Recovered family-history correspondence — August 25, 2008. Danielle sent this request to members of the Oser family while working on a Christmas family-history project: Hello – I’m working on a project for Christmas and I really need your help. I’m looking for photos of the Oser side of the family with all of you. Photos… Continue reading

  • Just what has Matt started now …

Last night Matt found this for the boys and of course they thought it was the coolest thing in the world. (And I can’t tell you how many times they replayed it. There are other versions too.) So cool that they were still singing it this morning. So when I handed Morgan his stuffed animal… Continue reading

  • Photography by Tyler …

When Tyler gets a hold of my camera I end up with about 50 photos like this Continue reading

  • Tyler starts 1st Grade …

Tyler started first grade Wednesday — was he excited — well he arrived in my room at 5:54 a.m. dressed and ready to go it that is any indication. (Thursday we were back to dragging him out of bed again.) And the homework power struggle has already begun. Seems this year he has a “red… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
