  • Jo Zeimet — Teapots, Spode, Old Tools, and the Family Things

Recovered family correspondence — May 12, 2008. We have moved into a much smaller house, and there is, alas, just not room for Everything in the Universe. I have a couple of old things that belonged to your great grandma and grandma: musical teapots, a couple pieces of Spode from Grandma Fuller, a 20’s era… Continue reading

  • Jo Zeimet — AraBelle Fuller Never Hid From Anything

Recovered family correspondence — May 12, 2008. While remembering AraBelle Fuller around what would have been her 90th birthday, Jo Zeimet shared a story about her mother’s personality: Good laugh, but let me tell you, ABF never hid from anything. When AIM was occupying various places around the Black Hills, she kept a long handled… Continue reading

  • Worst Mom’s Day Gifts …

Saw this article Five things you should never buy as a Mother’s Day gift and wondered if you agree. As I never want anything traditional it’s hard for me to gauge — I’m always happy with manual labor and stuff that others might consider inappropriate (labelers, retaining walls, doors) Continue reading

  • Happy Birthday Grandpa Beck!

Today is my Dad’s birthday (61). Call his cell phone and give him a hard time about it 🙂 Continue reading

  • A grown up birthday wish list …

At least 5 times a day Morgan or Tyler will tell me what they would like for their birthday, Christmas or whatever occasion they think they need a toy for. Doesn’t matter that Morgan just had his birthday or that Tyler is no where close, but time is relative.Anyway someone asked me recently what is… Continue reading

  • Monet Tyler …

What can I say, I’m so proud. I didn’t have a clue who Monet was until I was at his house in Giverney when I was 16. Matt’s first question “You’re going to frame it aren’t you?” Well Duh! Continue reading

  • Mom can you help me with my socks …

3:58 a.m. I hear the shuffling on the carpet, I feel the stare penetrating through my still want to be asleep eyes “Mom can you help me with my socks?” And why did Morgan need socks at 3:58 a.m.? He has a 103+ fever and his feet are cold. Duh. Of course 3:59 a.m. brought… Continue reading

  • Goodbye Lexapro …

Add yet another medication to the long list of things my body won’t tolerate, lexapro. No life threatening reaction this time, but a rash that does not want to go away. I’m taking benadryl to counteract it, which just makes me tired. Everything makes me tired. I want to go to sleep at 7 and… Continue reading

  • The Red Cross is stalking me …

I have no problem doing my civic duty — making blankets for Children’s Hospital, raising money with the boys, picking up trash. But I’m telling you the Red Cross is stalking me, they call every day (different times of day, even Sunday). I know what they want, they want my O+ blood and I’ll give… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
