No blood, no band-aid …
In our house we have a rule called “no blood, no band-aid” — it’s part of the idea that I don’t give excess sympathy for the countless bumps and bruises, a “shake it off” mentality. (That makes me sound rotten doesn’t it?) So last night Morgan was giving a performance like one I’ve not seen… Continue reading

Happy Birthday To Matt — 2008
Today is Matt’s birthday — can the man ask for a cake that I can easily whip up/purchase. No, of course not. Matt’s been watching Ace of Cakes on the Food Network so he wants something made with Fondant (which is an entire package of marshmallows and an entire bag of powdered sugar kneaded and… Continue reading

It’s Official, Dad’s House is on the market …
Media-recovery record — original post confirmed. A June 26, 2008 Blogger comment notification confirms this post and its URL. Sometimes a freckle isn’t a freckle …
Monday evening we got a call from Papa Mike — “I found a tick — you may want to check the boys.” So we did and found nothing. Tuesday in the bathtub Tyler was convinced every freckle was a tick. “I found a tick” “No that’s a mole.” “I found a tick” “No that’s a… Continue reading

The annual trip to the photographer …
Once a summer I take the boys to have professional photos done (I like Sears because you can get all the photos that are taken on a CD that day plus the copyright release so you can play with them all you want). I really didn’t think we were going to have any luck this… Continue reading

Yankee Doodle Dandy?
At a garage sale last summer I got a box of about 50 kids audio tapes — a great deal if you have a tape player still. Anyway, in the car we were listening to a sing-along version of “Yankee Doodle” which of course could not be accepted as just a funky little song by… Continue reading
About Me
I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week. Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
