Our first pine wood derby was a success …

I’m pretty sure Matt’s primary reason for getting Tyler involved in Boy Scouts was the pine wood derby. The boys and Dad created numerous designs and spent the past month refining their creations — Tyler’s a hammerhead shark and Morgan’s a more traditional race car.

In the end Tyler placed first for his age group (the Tiger Cubs) and Morgan was beat by the Barbie car and took second place for the siblings group. (Matt says it’s because the alignment on Morgan’s wasn’t quite right.)

Either way all three boys had an outstanding day and are already coming up with designs for next year.
