Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Butterflies …

I’m superstitious.

I try really hard not to pick up dropped spoons ’cause it is bad luck. I believe everything happens in threes and knock on wood pretty often.

So when I spotted butterflies buzzing around at both of Matt’s grandmother’s funerals a few years back and then again at my Grandma’s graveside I believe it must be a sign. A sign to let me know that they are here watching — and if you watch carefully you’ll spot one. Making sure I know they are keeping an eye on us — watching their great-grand babies grow up into amazing little people — and maybe checking up on me too.

So if you ever hear me greet a monarch with a “hello Grandma” — you’ll know why.

One response to “Butterflies …”

  1. OMG — when we buried Mark’s brother there was a monarch that flitted around and landed on the casket. To honor him at Christmas, Mark’s mom has a tree decorated entirely with butterflies and angels. I still cannot see a butterfly without thinking of Mike.BTW, I don’t know if I ever told you how much it meant when you appeared at his visitation.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
