Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • Morgan the bully …

Morgan is learning to terrorize the world. He’s taken to pushing kids over at day care and then putting himself into timeout. (With a smile of course!) Continue reading

  • Kensie …

Tyler’s in day care love. Her name is Mackenzie (Kensie) and they are best friends. This week anyway. Everyday Tyler asks if she is coming over to play. Since I still don’t know which one she is and who her mom is — I have to break his heart and say not today. Guess I’ll have… Continue reading

  • This is the way my mind works lately …

If English speaking toddlers sound like they are speaking Chinese, do Chinese toddlers sound like they are speaking English? Continue reading

  • I’m thankful for you …

Thanksgiving morning, I’m just out of the shower to find my room, a post confined children disaster, Tyler comes up to me, gives me a hug and tells me “I’m thankful for you.” Continue reading

  • Ambition is a dangerous thing …

OK – we’ve been in the house 2 years and have not really “done” anything to it – having a baby was just a little impediment to the progress. To remedy the situation we decided to do our bedroom. The 1980s undershirt flower wallpaper was to be retired. Week One: Get really excited and buy… Continue reading

  • Visions of Holland Danced In My Head …

Well something was dancing in my head as I planted 250 bulbs this weekend. The sad part is, I have another 200 to go. I really hope I appreciate it next spring. Continue reading

  • The Mays …

The story of the plight of the Pilgrims continues. Tyler is now addicted to watching the Charlie Brown version of the Mayflower voyage – a detailed account of sickness, hardship and toil. When summarized by Tyler they sail on “The Mays” and everyone get sick and many die, but then they build houses and play… Continue reading

  • Sick Pilgrim …

Tyler’s class made pilgrims. I’m looking at all of the pilgrims with smiling faces and two eyes and then I get to Tyler’s. Tyler’s face has at least 20 circles on it. “Tyler, why does your pilgrim have so many eyes?” “They aren’t eyes, he’s sick.” Continue reading

  • Anne-knee-mauls …

Morgan might be a zoo keeper if he grows up (which at the rate he throws himself off of things is questionable.) He comes straight down the stairs to find his “anne-knee-mauls” — little plastic animals that come in a “toob.” He grabs you off the couch to go “pay” (and he truly does grab… Continue reading

  • Dance Class

I’ve enrolled Tyler in a dance class (figuring that when he gets a little older he’ll want nothing to do with dance class.) He had his first session yesterday. When Miss Krissy (the teacher) said “let’s do log rolls” Tyler decided to be a boulder. When Miss Krissy asked “Can you jump?” Tyler bounced around… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
