Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • Morgan is having surgery …

We’re taking Morgan in for surgery on Thursday to remove a dermoid cyst by this left eye. It’s a relatively simple procedure. They will go in through his eyelid and remove it that way to control scarring. It will be done as an out-patient procedure at St. John’s here in St. Louis, a well-known facility.… Continue reading

  • Bread, Milk and Eggs …

Say the word “ice” and St. Louisans will flock to the store to buy bread, milk and eggs. The City — the metro area as a whole — does not handle inclement weather well. Several “ice days” are built into the school calendars — just in case. So we’ve had several “ice days” lately —… Continue reading

  • Porcupine Rebellion …

We had a porcupine rebellion this evening. OK — let me explain — a porcupine is a large meatball made with rice and covered with tomato soup. I’ve eaten them for years. They are one of my favorites. The boys and Matt refused to eat them. Porcupines anyone? I have 5 left. Continue reading

OK — after doing countless loads of laundry on my “day off” (otherwise known as the day I work my buns off, but don’t get paid) I went upstairs to discover a brand new pile of smelly garments. “Matt do you have any idea how many loads of laundry I do a week?”His brilliant response,… Continue reading

  • Like the true fashion victim I am …

  • A year and a day …

A book I listened to lately said it takes a year and a day to mourn the loss of someone you love. I don’t know if I buy into that or not, but here we are a year later. My heart still aches, but it’s true that life does go on. But I doubt I’ll… Continue reading

  • My mental state of mind …

Since I’ve chronicled so much of my battle so far I thought I’d give you an update. We’ve been playing musical meds since my “incident” with Lamictal in March. I’ve exhausted all serotonin drugs so my Doc and I decided to try the drug family first introduced in the 1960s — which do work on… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
