Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • The Morgan Update …

Morgan has viral pneumonia. They have put him on an antibiotic to help build up his immune system and in hopes that this is the strain that changes to a bacterial infection. He’s also back on the nebulizer every four hours. Mike is with him this afternoon so I can run into work and do… Continue reading

  • Why Men should not be allowed to write advice columns …

Dear Walter:I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn’t gone more than a few hundred yards down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home… Continue reading

  • No modesty issues here …

Tonight at dinner I told Tyler he was a goofball. His response to me, “I am not a goofball I am the smartest boy in the world.”(Duh Mom) Continue reading

  • Critical Music Periods …

One of my best friends has a theory about “critical music periods” that people who have experienced the same critical music periods are more likely to have camaraderie, friendship and love. It seems my period is stuck somewhere around the mid-90s. I can’t tell you what is on the radio today. I can’t tell you… Continue reading

  • "Mom why are you being a Bombaloo?"

There is a book Sometimes I’m Bombaloo that helps kids explore feelings of anger and frustration and when one is being especially horrible, they are a Bombaloo. • As only Morgan could say it …

“Lacy’s girl brother started kindergarten.”(To the tune of Never Smile At a Crocodile) “Never smile at a jellyfish or it will bite you the butt.” OK correction, it will sting you in the butt.“Are we going to XXXX (fill in blank here) or what” He’s taken to ending sentences with “or what” not to be… Continue reading

  • Unaccompanied adult …

Is there such a thing as an unaccompanied adult — or should I refine it to Mother? At all times whether they are with me or not they are my responsibility, they are Matt’s responsibility also, but in a different way I can’t explain. In the course of a normal day the boys shop for… Continue reading

  • Our First Of MANY Fundraising Activities …

OK — he’s been in school for EXACTLY one week and the fundraising forms are already here. First — We are looking pledges for the Hawk Walk (I’m not exactly what this means exactly) but checks can be made out to the Harris PTO and must be recieved by August 27. If he raises $200… Continue reading

  • Tyler’s First Day of School …

We’ll let you know how it goes. Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
