Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

  • This is too good …

And while we’re on the topic of drug commercials. Is is OK to have an errection for 3 or 3.5 hours? How did they decide 4 hours was the point in time at which you should seek medical attention? Continue reading

  • Maybe this will make you laugh too …

Little Carol came into the kitchen where her mother was making dinner. Her birthday was coming up and she thought this was a good time to tell her mother what she wanted. ‘Mom, I want a bike for my birthday.’ Now, Little Carol was a bit of a troublemaker. She had gotten into trouble at… Continue reading

  • My new toy …

I’ve been wanting to get a digital SLR camera for awhile now and with our upcoming trip I guess Matt decided to give in — so now I have a whole new set of instructions to read. Here are a few shots of the boys playing this afternoon. (In the bottom on they are “sharing”… Continue reading

  • Labor Day Weekend Fun …

Friday night of Labor Day weekend Matt got a wild hair to go somewhere. (We’d already checked into taking the train to Chicago, but it was sold out). So we ended up finding a room at Tan Tar A at the Lake of the Ozarks. It’s kid friendly (mini golf, bowling, playground and their favorite… Continue reading

  • Fly me to the moon …

Labor Day we took the boys to see Fly Me To The Moon (in 3D no less) It’s cute — not perfect, but cute. The Russians are the enemy storyline did not resonate with this generation but offers a Cold War nod — funny how different the world is and isn’t different today. A good… Continue reading

  • Third week woes …

We’ve just started the third week of school and I’m already totally frustrated and overwhelmed. It’s not so much the daily homework as it is the daily homework battles. We save homework until after dinner so he’s had a chance to play, he’s fed and there are few excuses (aside that we’re both exhausted.) It’s… Continue reading

  • Jokes …

Tyler and Morgan love to make up jokes. They get a total kick out of nonsense without a punchline. Imagine my surprise when they came up with something, at the spur of the moment that made sense. Tyler “What do you call a Popsicle when it’s all gone?”Morgan “A stick” Made me laugh anyway. Continue reading

  • Flavor or the day …

A few weeks ago we took the boys to get a Hawaiian Ice (snow cone). The flavor of the day was Mango Tango, which tickled Tyler’s fancy. Now what did Morgan want? White. That’s right, white. Not coconut, not vanilla or cream — he wanted a cup of plain snow. He was delighted with his… Continue reading

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
