Life With Boys

Life with boys … my feeds have been full of questions about the best dorm room stuff … what kind of computer for this major or that … how many IKEA bags they will need … and now I am seeing all of those choices in place as the images of move-in day start to emerge … and it is a bit surreal … because now we are on the other side with one … wondering what to do with all the stuff post-graduation while the boy looks for his big-kid job … and I can verify it is not a fast process …

It has been a summer of transitions … and so many piles … and it is weird and stressful … to be worried about what the future will hold … to accommodate the needs of boys … and cats … differing schedules …. and sleeping and dietary requirements …

So, while today took us to visit one boy … tomorrow will include basement cleaning to make room for the stuff that is in transition … as our nest continues to transform and readjust to whatever might be next …

And I will continue to find my new footing with the new job and a constantly changing reality … and I will hold my tongue as the boy uses my supplies to build new creations … and as another starts a new year …. and I will hope they find their way … without killing any of them …
