Life with boys … the boy has mono … so discovered during our second trip to the ER this month … guess we can have all the elective surgeries now that our deductible has been met … anyway … we were talking about the transmission of mono … to which he says, “so why didn’t I get this a while ago?” … Me: ”well, it’s not like you marked my calendar to record all the instances when transmission was going to be possible for us to trace this” … boy gives me the look … Me: ”and I had no idea you were kissing that other girl until her mom called to ask me if her daughter needed to be tested for COVID” … Boy: “Ok, you can just stop now” … Me: “Hey, this is not a door I opened” …
This also means he will not be able to wrestle on senior night … and at this point we don’t know if he will be cleared by districts … twelve years of wrestling and he might be sidelined by the virus that no one is paying attention to right now … crap, really hoping he has not put this together yet … he clearly is my disaster magnet kid …
Edit: We are hoping he has been dealing with this for a while already and that he now at the tail end. I will take him in next to see what the pediatrician thinks …
