Life with boys … mono edition part two … so, the doctor told us to be wary of possible spleen enlargement, so when the boy complained of stomach issues I booked an appt at urgent care just to get stuff checked out … I did not really think it was anything but I just wanted a second opinion … the urgent care did not even look at him, they just sent him to the ER … crap, this is not what I had in mind. … so we go to the ER … again … they tell us he has mono, we say, yes, we know that … I’m not loving this doctor … after much discussion … and a good deal of negative juju that makes me out to be some crazy sports Mom … the doctor decides to do an ultrasound …. so we sit and wait … and wait … and finally he goes down and later reappears … and we wait some more … boy asks, “so, how long are we going to be here?” … Me: “Like I know” … Boy: “because some people want to go out to” … I just look at him and then, “Are you kidding me? We are in the ER and you want to go out tonight?” … Boy: “Well if I am OK enough to go to school, I should be able to go out and get food” … Me: “WE ARE IN THE ER” … Boy: “I can’t believe you are yelling at me, we are in the ER” … give me strength not to strangle the boy … the ultrasound was fine by-the-way … and he still has mono …
About Me
I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week. Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
