I recently had to explain to a good friend why I needed to change plans due to the appearance of the package fairy – then I had to explain the package fairy

“The package fairy is the mythical being that comes and invades your entire house as you attempt to get packages shipped out in time. She frequently steals the scissors and encourages the cats to play hide and seek in the bubble wrap and packing peanuts. And then you remember only after you have completely taped up the package that you forgot to include something. (That is her doing as well, selective tape related memory loss.) May I keep her busy enough here that she is too distracted to go to your house.”
