Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Why are there chickens …

Time for my blogging hiatus to come to an end.  So here’s a story to start us off.

As I was driving Tyler home from school today we saw a pair of missionaries talking to a woman on her lawn.  Tyler then wanted to know more.  I told him missionaries would go door-to-door to help people learn about the Mormon religion.

“Like selling cookies?”

Yes, Tyler, missionaries are just like Girl Scouts.

He then went on to tell me “people make up religion to make sense of the worldly things around them … like why are there chickens. When really they should look to science and evolution but some people just can’t believe that we were ever fish.”

But he’s not sure about Mormons ’cause they have lots of wives.  He learned all about them from Sherlock Holmes [A Study In Scarlett] … “don’t you remember Mom from when we were listening to the story two summers ago when you were driving around all over buying cucumbers.”

Yes, I do remember, we were in the midst of canning fever. And no Tyler, not all Mormons have lots of wives.

“But some do.”

OK – maybe some do.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
