Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Yeah, yeah, yeah …

I’ve been so bad at blogging lately and I feel just rotten about it … want to hear my excuses?

  1. Our network at work (that sounds dumb) was struck by lightning 5 weeks ago. Since then to say our computers have been spotty is well, a bit of an understatement. You see I usually take a few minutes at lunch to make my posts and well, I haven’t even been able to turn the stupid thing on.
  2. We got a new computer at home and trying to get it set up ans been a major pain. And oh by the way, somehow when we switched computers half of my photos evaporated. I had them on disc, but it meant playing the disc shuffle to load them back on. Music collection was hosed as well.
  3. I’m now working everyday until 2, get here about 2:30 (pending I don’t need milk, prescriptions, library books, tanks of helium) Boys are usually off the bus at 3:10. So sometimes I have a whole 30 minutes to myself – in which I find myself trying to catch up on this and that (I’m down to half a file drawer of kid goodies left to scan. I only started the project a year ago.)
  4. I can’t watch the kids outside, cook dinner and blog. Dinner is usually tough enough (and has been a bit crispy on more than one occasion).
  5. I’ve finally gotten a handle on the basement. You can walk around now. That is an accomplishment. The boys now have their own craft area that is in hopes going to help keep some control over the never ending mess on my kitchen table.
  6. EBay sales are going pretty well — you see in order to find the floor stuff had to go. But eBay can be a time-suck by the time you get it all photographed, listed and shipped. I have a sizable pile left to list, but one thing at a time.
  7. I start school on October 3 and I’ve been trying to read ahead and remember how to be a student again. I will have at least 2 papers due a week (in MLA style – not that I know what that is) a “current event” type report and some communications project that I’m not clear on — but will be soon enough. I am nervous and wondering what I’m getting myself in for — but the syllabus is supposed to be intimidating right?
  8. I just don’t have much to report. Tyler and Morgan are doing well in school so far. We have parent teacher conferences next week, so we’ll find out more.

That’s enough for now. Morgan has a birthday party to attend this afternoon and Matt’s helping his Dad at their new house. Thank you for bearing with me.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
