This morning as I was getting a soda at the gas station I noticed the slushies are now “fortified with caffeine” — really? is the concentration of sugar not enough? — you need to have it fortified with caffeine as well? Guess it sells.
Anyway … We are now starting our third week of school and maybe we’ll start to settle into a routine — maybe. I’m still not accustomed to my new schedule — that is for sure. Morgan has managed to not get into any trouble yet and so far Tyler is tolerating it all (of course we’re still waiting to hear how he tests out in reading this year, which may change everything).
This week I’ll officially enroll in my graduate program — I’ll have classes once a week for about four hours. It is a quarter system (which works for me because I’ve only ever known quarters). That will be another schedule adjustment to come.
Work has been a bit crazy especially because our building was hit by lighting last week and the computer networks have been hit and miss ever since. It’s amazing how dependent we are on connectivity — how did we ever get anything done before the age of the Internet? Luckily I keep a lot on my laptop because I’m in and out so much so I didn’t have as many issues due to the lack of network access.
In other news, my in-laws have decided to move a bit closer and have bought a new house about 45 minutes from here (instead of the 1.5 hours we drive now). They have officially closed and will move in piece-by-piece until their house sells (but I don’t that will take too long).
Gotta cut this short — the Electric Company is over and Morgan is doing the “I’m hungry” chant (which will be countered by an argument with Tyler soon enough!)
