Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

Busy, busy, busy …

I’m buried in busyness these days — buzzing all the time.

Work has picked up tremendously as we are merging with another company — which means a lot of detail wrangling on my part — media and client announcements, website tweaks, new sales materials and profiles, envelopes — all the important stuff. It’s a good thing I’m working 4 days a week for a bit cause I have one or two things to do.

Why am I working 4 days a week? Tyler has the privilege of attending summer school — yes, first grade summer school. It was not mandatory, but was “highly” recommended. So for now until mid-July I’ll have Friday’s at home with the boys. We’re taking to calling them “Field Trip Fridays” — I feel guilty. I think the Magic House (the children’s museum) in on the schedule for tomorrow — along with buying Morgan yet another pair of shoes. I swear that kid thinks shoes are disposable.

Summer also means if we’re awake and it’s not raining Morgan wants to be outside — on his scooter, on his bike, hanging out in the court in front of our house. Tyler is indifferent. He’s not really all that excited about riding bikes or learning how to jump his scooter off a ramp (which I’m still trying to convince Morgan is a bad idea.) Tyler is just as happy to spend hours staring into the monster hole (the storm drain) looking for bugs and making up stories about monsters. Such different, different kids.

I tried to bribe Morgan with a new scooter this morning (he has a three wheel type now). I told him that if he learned 30 sight words we could go look for a scooter. He told me he’d rather wait to ask Santa.

My garden is finally coming together –it actually has plants that are blooming this year. I think I’ve added at least 30 bags of dirt this year alone (and at 40 lbs apiece — that is a lot of hauling of dirt.) Matt just turns a blind eye and attends the weeds in the lawn.

The boys will start T-Ball this weekend — a 6 week adventure in eye-hand coordination. But at least Tyler wanted to play this year (he opted out last year.)

I’ve got a ton of photos to post from Dad’s visit last weekend. Maybe if I can get 20 people to figure out how to change their email signature on their own I’ll have a minute. I’m not counting on it.

  1. What kid wants to wait that long for a toy? Santa is a long time away — he must really dislike sight words.

And it would be fine for you to change the link on your blog roll. I don't mind at all.

  2. I know – what a dork. What in the world am I in for?

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
