Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

A week with the Oser’s …

Not sure where the time has gone — somewhere between swim lessons, cub scouts, figuring out what is for dinner and finding colder weather clothes time has just slipped by. So here’s a brief summary.

I applied for graduate school at Lindenwood University. I’m looking at the MA in digital media and I can pull parts from other programs to add the Internet marketing portion. I’m looking to start next fall when both boys are in elementary school. Any leads on scholarships are GREATLY appreciated.

It seems the boys are not as immune to the political chaos as I believed. The other day in the car Morgan is singing “Ohhh-bomb-aaaa” “Ohhh-bomb-aaaa” Well Morgan, who is Obama? “The brown guy” and what is he doing? “He wants to be president.” Well does anyone else want to be president? “McCain” and who is he? “The old, wrinkly guy.” NO POLITICAL ENDORSEMENT IS MEANT BY THIS SO DON’T SEND ME ANYTHING ABOUT EITHER CANDIDATE! Thanks.

The boys spent Saturday night with Grandma and Grandpa Oser so they could attend the Halloween Parade in Carlinville. They came home with more candy than I know what to do with and vision of trick-or-treating dancing in their heads. What did Matt and I do with out night alone? He played on my laptop and I watched The Other Boleyn Girl (I’m totally addicted to Philippa Gregory novels now, but alas so many are abridged and I don’t do abridged audio books) the movie was pretty good — it strays from the novel but what movies don’t?

Tyler got his report card. It’s not great, but we’re not making a big deal of it. At this point we’re just plugging along. I told the teacher it’s taking us about an hour per night to get through homework and she seemed surprised by that — but tell me how we’re supposed to do the assigned homework, study spelling, review sight words, read a book and play some kind of math game in less than an hour? I try to break it up — ok worksheet then go to basement to find Halloween decorations then sight words then get to look in bin of Halloween decorations and so on. And in the meantime keep Morgan entertained and out of the way.

I’m sure there is more, but my brain is tired. Check in later.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
