Today is Matt’s birthday — can the man ask for a cake that I can easily whip up/purchase. No, of course not. Matt’s been watching Ace of Cakes on the Food Network so he wants something made with Fondant (which is an entire package of marshmallows and an entire bag of powdered sugar kneaded and mixed until it’s a bit like play dough) I will say he’s so intrigued with the stuff he did help me mix up a batch yesterday. Now, this evening we will roll it out and hope we can get it on the cake (plain round cake — no fancy shapes here, one thing at a time please) I think he’s even thinking about coloring it. Silly, silly birthday boy. I’m predicting a sugar high in my house this evening.

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week. Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
