Life With Boys

Harry Potter mania is in full force at our house.

I’ve been listening to the Potter books non-stop for about a month now (I’m starting the 6th book today.) I’ve pre-ordered the CDs for the 7th book and expect them to arrive on the 24th (or at least that is what Amazon says). I think I’ll take the boys to the party at Border’s tonight — oh how I wish they were old enough to read them for real — but that means I’ll get to read them again in a few years. But the boys can identify Harry and Tyler even likes to listen to the cds in the car.

In fact — the other day Tyler snuck up on Matt and caught him in the act of being magical — “Dad, what does Stupefy mean?” (Now do I have any idea what he was trying to stun, no. Matt will deny this, even though he’s the one who relayed it to me.) And last night, just as I was about to fall asleep Matt pulls out the flashlight, points it at the ceiling and yells “Expecto Patronum” — he’s totally lost it. And yesterday Matt played hookie and took me to see the Order of the Phoenix I really enjoyed it and will definitely see it again. If you have a chance to see it, do — some of the special effects are incredible.

OK — need to get going — Matt’s thrown his back out again and is at home on the couch (at least he can walk to the bathroom this time.) I’ll keep you posted and if you hear any spoilers don’t tell me.
