Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

I, I Think I Smell Something …

Tyler has a nose for popcorn — I mean he’s a bloodhound when it comes to popcorn. I think he could be roused from a sound sleep with just the smell.

He’ll appear at the top of the stairs, peering down, knowing he’s not supposed to come down, knowing that he’s supposed to be in bed, knowing that there is popcorn down there and he must have it.

“Mom.”
“Momma.”
“Mom, I, I smell something.”
And bounding down the stairs he comes with his hound dog look that makes you want to laugh when you’re supposed to be sending him back to bed. Telling you he’s so hungry, all the while stuffing as much popcorn in his mouth as he can before we send him back up with the orders that we love him and we don’t want to see him again until the 7 is on his clock in the morning. (Which he interprets as a 7 anywhere in the numbers — not just at the beginning.)

Last night he broke protocol, skipped the stairs routine all together and came directly to the couch, plopped himself down between Matt and I and asked if we could find something “good to watch”

“Do you want a beer with that too?” asked Matt.

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
