Life With Boys

The mis-adventures of two crazy boys and their bleary eyed parents.

The cat situation part two …

Fulda has kidney stones. They cannot be removed and will not pass on their own.

For now he’s on antibiotics and we’ll just play it by ear from there.

  1. Yeah, sounds similar to the situation we had. Our Luna had what the doctor called “crystals” and urination was painful. She was peeing on our bed to let us know she was in pain. We put her on special food (Hill’s Prescription Diet S/D Formula) to change her body chemistry and get rid of the crystal formations. Then, for maintenance, we switched her to W/D Formula. Since our kitties live together like normal kitties, we had to quarrantine Luna while on the S/D so that Galileo didn’t eat her food. Apparently, it could be toxic to him. The crystal problem has disappeared, but now she is on anti-anxiety medications to help her urinary tract disorder. I don’t know all the details. I just asked Bev to give me a synopsis. Your post just concerns me, because I think it is more of a body chemistry thing than something that antibiotics will fix. As a kidney stone sufferer myself, I am on a water pill, and drink tons of water. Since you can’t force your kitty to drink, you might have to try the diet changes. Good luck!

About Me

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week.  Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
