The first Valentine’s Day Matt and I shared was on the phone. Matt sent me the movie, Bambi and six roses he had drawn himself on Kinko’s card stock (the most our telephone maximized budget would afford — long distance was EXPENSIVE back then — now don’t I sound old.)
This year Matt and the boys gave me the sequel to Bambi and a dozen hand-colored roses. The card said that this time he could afford the flowers now, but thought I would like these better. I was so touched.
And — Tyler picked me out a special bunch of silk flowers from Wal-Mart — complete with a butterfly.

I started this site so my mom could get news about her grandkids without me having to walk her through the process of trying to open and email attachment several times a week. Since then she has passed away and I’ve fallen off the blog wagon, but I’m inspired to pick it up again now.
